Physical & Restorative Therapy
Our restorative team works closely with residents to help them maintain and enhance the abilities needed for everyday living. Through individualized programs, our trained staff engage with residents each day to strengthen mobility, improve balance, and support essential skills such as walking, transferring, dressing, and personal care.
Our goal is to help each resident remain as independent and active as possible. When any decline in function is observed, our team promptly communicates these changes to the resident’s primary care provider, who can determine whether progressive physical or occupational therapy may be appropriate.
The restorative team emphasizes consistent practice, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, all of which support better overall health, increased confidence, and an improved quality of life in a safe and supportive environment.
PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES
Southeast Iowa Healthcare Center offers nursing services with an emphasis on caring for individuals with a psychiatric-based illness. Psychiatric services including medication management and behavior modification are provided by a licensed Psychiatrist.
CENTRALLY LOCATED
Southeast Iowa Healthcare Center is located in Keokuk, Iowa. Resident referrals come from hospitals, traditional nursing facilities, assisted living and community-based programs. We can utilize telehealth services to assist with the admission process.
WIDE VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES
Southeast Iowa Healthcare Center has an Activity Director on staff who schedules a wide array of activities including crafts, exercises, van rides, shopping, community lunches, parades, and more. Emphasis is placed on activities which ease residents into a sense of engagement and belonging. One-on-one activities are also offered, such as Bible Study.
